Beaufortain ski-touring 3 days

Ski touring in Beaufortain is a way of life!

It is also an integral part of the local life, until the creation of a legendary ski-mountaineering race: the Pierra Menta. The virgin slopes of ski lifts have always called for skiers to come and make beautiful curves in powder snow, especially since the snow is particularly good all winter in this little corner of paradise.


Itinerary

  • Day 1Arêches - Roche Parstire (2109m)

    Meet at Arêches in the early morning and hire equipment if necessary, weekend briefing by your guide and distribution of picnics.
    Departure by car for the authentic small hamlet of Boudin on the heights of Arêches: you go to the East to reach the Pré pass at 1703m where the view overlooking Lake Roselend will delight us. From the pass the slope that goes to the South and leads us to the ridge: it will follow and remove the skis on a small portion to reach the Roche Parstire at 2109m. The 360 ​​° view is beautiful: the farandole peaks and Mont Blanc as a backdrop, what better to start this trip and put in conditions.

  • Day 2Arêches - Summit of Roche Plane (2166m).

    Departure from the Maisonnettes, above Arêches. Through the pastures, the forest and a beautiful slope, we will climb Roche Plane, one of the most popular peaks of Beaufortain because it is ideal for ski touring. Arrival at the main summit (2166m) on foot, by a small ledge. Quiet descent zigzagging between the little firs!

    - Sport activity time: 6 to 7 hours

  • Day 3The Mont Coin (2539m)

    Departure by vehicle for the terminus of the road leading to Lake St-Guérin. Through the mountain pastures, climb Mount Coin (2539m), by its western side. This will be our biggest drop in the week. Descent by the same route. Back to Arêches, then separation in the middle of the afternoon.

MODIFICATION OF THE PROGRAM


Important: This program can be modified by decision of the guide if the conditions of the mountain, the weather or the physical condition of the participants requires it and for the sake of safety. For security reasons and to guarantee a consistent level corresponding to that announced, the management and the organization reserve the right to interrupt your participation if your technical level and / or your fitness does not correspond to those required. In no case may this interruption give rise to a refund or payment of compensation.

The price includes


The deposit of 30% is payable at the time of registration, the balance of the stay must be paid 30 days of departure.
Technical organization of the internship

Insurance


We can offer you our 3 possible formulas:
- Cancellation insurance 3% of the price of your stay: for any accident or illness, dismissal, transfer or event occurring prior to departure and preventing you can perform the stay.
- Multi-risk insurance to 4% of the price of your stay: it takes the "cancel" above and also covers you during your stay in search and rescue expenses as well as hospitalization, repatriation, reimbursement of medical expenses, etc. ...
- Repatriation insurance at 2% of the price of the stay: support for search and rescue costs in the mountains, assistance in case of illness, injury during the trip. If you do not wish to subscribe to our insurance you must send us the insurance release sent with your confirmation of registration. If you choose other insurance and assistance contracts, we invite you to check in particular that the search and rescue coverage is appropriate: coverage area, amount, risks covered.

For information, a minimum amount of 15 000 € is recommended in the search-and-rescue coverage. Credit cards offer little or no this type of guarantee.

• Collective equipment (ropes) is provided if necessary.
• At the refuge of the slippers are at your disposal.
• Covers and duvets are provided in a shelter: remember to provide the sheet-bag for hygiene reasons.
• Individual security equipment (DVA batteries not supplied, shovel, probe): thank you to report to the agency if you own yours.

Practical information

HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS

Before departure, it is important to have a good physical condition, corresponding to the requirements and activities of the program. A regular physical activity and the practice of a sport with elements of endurance is mandatory for high mountain activities. This sport can be jogging, cycling, swimming or hiking. Please inform the agency about your medical conditions and particularities concerning your health: food allergies, diabetes, heart and vascular accidents you might have had, asthma, etc ...  

Individual pharmacy 

Your guide will be carrying out a first aid kit. In consultation with your doctor, prepare your own pharmacy:

ACCOMMODATION

Shared bedrooms. Bathrooms, also shared with other participants. 

COACHING 

Your trip is monitored by a mountain guide who provide you all the technical elements needed for the good progress of the trip. The guide may need to change the program to ensure safety, regarding weather, mountains and other participants condition. 

DISPLACEMENT 

Touring skis. 
Personal belongings and picnic lunch have to fit in a 10 kg backpack.

FOOD 

- Lunch : picnic.
- Dinner in the cottage.
- Remember to bring sweets and dried fruits up to your taste before departure.
- Drinks are not included in the price (water, tea, coffee, beer, cola, etc ...). In the mountain, clients use to pay for the guides' drinks: the best would be to make a group's pot at the beginning of your stay.  Remember to bring some cash because there is not necessarily a credit card machine in the refuges.
